Job Description Summary
JLL is seeking an experienced Material Technician to join our team. This position entails working with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders at a client site. This role provides a wide variety of support services to the client office and the successful candidate will be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and a team player attitude.

Essential Functions
Process and status requests in the client's waste stream profile system
Transport 5-gallon and 55-gallon containers of hazardous and non-hazardous lab waste to centralized building locations (usually a designated 90-day hazardous waste room)
Monitor and manage requests for shipping preparation services
Inspect drums for proper labeling as described in the waste stream profile system
Close containers according to checklist (bung tightness, bolt location relative to label, etc.)
Palletize and prepare for shipping according to checklist, situated on pallet, banded, manifest number added
Follow checklists with attention to details
Plan order of work to ensure efficient completion within required timelines
Follow all Health and Safety rules including personal protective equipment and material handling instructions
Operate motor vehicles within a corporate campus to transport tools and materials to perform the services
Communication to lab occupants and requestors for non-compliant waste shipments
Follow-up on error findings and compliance issues
Maintain inventory of supplies, labels, liners, zip ties, etc.

Additional Responsibilities
Receive, sort, process and distribute incoming packages and pallets
Pick-up, process, validate documentation and handoff to the designated freight supplier for all client-outgoing packages
Prepare and ship all non-regulated packages received daily
Ensure that all shipments of Hazardous Waste are loaded and secured in the truck before the truck leaves building for next destination
Record and label materials
Process desktop shipping labels for outbound shipments
Utilize handheld devices to scan and record all incoming and outgoing packages
Identify, sort, and manage all good and bad pallet inventories for mail, shipping, and receiving operations
Weigh and record weight of corrugated material and bundle for shipment daily
Prepare courier packages, coordinating pick-up and delivery, confirming delivery/receipt with appropriate stakeholders, and resolve any related issues in a timely manner
Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Valid Minnesota Driver's License
Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
Strong customer service
A high degree of accuracy is required for handling sensitive equipment and proper routing of shipments
Ability to work in fast paced environment while managing multiple work streams and priorities
Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly
Lifting, bending, twisting
Ability to operate material handling equipment
