The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible clinical psychologist at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor.

Primary responsibilities include providing science-based psychological assessment and treatment for adult outpatients with all categories of psychiatric disorders, with a particular emphasis on providing care to diverse individuals with addiction and substance abuse disorders. Secondary responsibilities include the provision of education, supervision, and training to clinical psychology graduate students, medical students, and psychiatry residents and fellows. Engagement in research or scholarly activities is also strongly encouraged.

Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) is an 894-bed academic medical center hospital that is the primary teaching affiliate for the Feinberg School of Medicine and has nearly 1,900 affiliated physicians representing virtually every medical specialty. Northwestern Memorial Hospital ranks among the top hospitals in the nation and is recognized for providing exemplary patient care and innovative advancements in a variety of clinical areas including cardiovascular care; oncology; neurology and neurosurgery; geriatrics; solid organ and soft tissue transplants; orthopaedics; and women's health at its Prentice Women's Hospital.

Qualified candidates will have obtained a PhD or PsyD from a clinical psychology program that is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System and completed an APA-approved internship. It is also preferred that successful candidates have fellowship-level training in the assessment and treatment of addiction and substance abuse disorders. Qualified applicants will also have well developed competencies that facilitate their work with diverse communities and patients with intersectional identities. Qualified candidates will also be licensed or license eligible as a Clinical Psychologist in the state of Illinois.

The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.
