Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Engineer to drive the engineering practices, transformation and modernization of applications in Corporate Bank. This role should enable in identification of impediments and support various functional engineering teams to align with the Target State engineering practices. This professional is expected to influence engineering community to deliver solutions that comply with the Architecture Blueprint and with the Target State Architecture of the Bank. This professional is expected to be hands on and define and drive the engineering practices & preferences, identify the areas needing modernization and engage and support them to the modernization of their tech stack e.g introduction of microservices, APIs, event driven design, cloud adoption, test automation frameworks etc. This professional is expected to lead the CB tech wide engineering initiative and provide local center level of support.

What You'll Do

  • Promotes the target state architecture across the engineering community and all other stakeholders groups inside and outside corporate bank

  • Contributes or performs deep-dive reviews of technical solutions and designs and produced by individual teams and advises and do handholding on their improvement and ensures compliance with strategy, architecture standards and re-use of existing assets

  • Guides development teams towards adoption of modern design patterns and champions use of technologies to achieve highly scalable and well supported systems

  • Designs technical solution for complex business problems

  • Create Engineering practices guidelines, modernization plans, identification of legacy technology and path to their decommissioning and create insights for management using the data and industry available tools

  • Identify the appropriate tools and support on engineering automation work such as test automation and CICD

Skills You'll Need

  • Several years relevant experiences in software architecture, design, development, and engineering, ideally in financial services industry

  • Strong engineering, solution and domain architecture background and up to date knowledge on software engineering topics such as microservices, streaming architectures, high-performance, horizontal scaling, application programming interface (API) design, REST services, SOA principles, database systems, UI frameworks, enterprise integration patterns, modern software development life cycle (SDLC) practices

  • Proven track record of designing solutions and implementing technology roadmaps both on-premises and in the clouds (Global Control Programme (GCP), AWS, Azure)

  • Fluent in application development stack such as Java/Spring-Boot, JavaScript/TypeScript/NodeJS, ReactJS/Angular, Structured Query Language (SQL)/NoSQL databases such as Postgres DB/MongoDB

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing and alternating priorities with a constant focus on delivery with strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with a variety of partners and stakeholders; as well as facilitate group sessions

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to respectfully challenge stakeholders

  • Hands-on experiences with continuous integration/continuous deployment (or development) (CICD) pipelines, container technologies, test automation, agile practices, software development life cycle (SDLC)

  • Passionate technologist with a can-do attitude and is willing to learn new technologies with ability to deep dive into the code level

  • Excellent analytical skills with an ability to interpret bank wide specification into specific and effective domain requirements

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000.00 to $142,250.00.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
