Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Health System Director, EPIC Research-MCIT.

In this role, the Director of Epic Research will play a pivotal role in establishing a team that will lead and advance the use of Epic electronic healthcare applications within the context of research initiatives at NYU Langone Health. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of new Epic features to support research administration, ensuring seamless workflows, and leveraging technology to enhance the overall research experience within the academic health system.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Strategic Planning:

Provide visionary leadership in aligning Epic electronic healthcare applications with research goals and objectives.

Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement a strategic roadmap for implementation of Epic applications and features.

Oversee the work of a team of Epic Research applications analysts and provide supervision to promote efficiency and quality work output

2. Epic Systems Integration:

Oversee the integration of Epic applications analysts to develop and optimize research processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.

Work closely across MCIT teams to customize Epic modules for research-related functionalities.

Work collaboratively across MCIT teams to ensure that ancillary research systems integrations with Epic are thoughtfully designed and implemented

3. Research Workflow Optimization:

Streamline and enhance research workflows by leveraging Epic applications, promoting efficiency, and ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.

Collaborate with research administration teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements.

4. Training and Support:

Collaborate with the MCIT Training team in the development and implementation of train the trainer programs for research staff on the effective use of Epic systems in research administration.

Analyze adoption of new features to promote and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

Foster collaboration between MCIT and other departments involved in research, promoting a culture of innovation and cross-functional teamwork.

Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including researchers, administrators, and IT teams, to ensure alignment of technology solutions with research goals.

6. Compliance and Data Security:

Ensure that the use of Epic applications in research adheres to all relevant compliance standards and data security protocols.

Collaborate with compliance officers to conduct regular audits and assessments.

7. Enhancing User Experience for Researchers and Trial Participants:

Collaborate with user experience (UX) design teams to assess and improve the overall usability of digital tools used by researchers and trial participants.

Conduct user feedback sessions and surveys to gather insights, identify pain points, and implement enhancements to digital tools.

Champion a user-centric approach, ensuring that technology solutions align with the needs and preferences of researchers and trial participants.

Work closely with research teams to implement digital tools that enhance participant engagement, streamline communication, and improve the overall experience of individuals involved in research studies.

Implement innovative solutions to make the use of digital tools more intuitive, efficient, and enjoyable for both researchers and trial participants.

Oversee the workflow for provisioning user access to Epic Cosmos and work with Epic to improve the user experience interacting with Cosmos

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree required
9+ years of relevant experience, with 3 years of management experience.
Experience in the administration of clinical trials
Proven track record of successfully implementing and optimizing Epic electronic healthcare applications.
Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in healthcare research.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters/Graduate degree preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $146,384.39 - $243,974.35 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
