The UVA Earn While You Learn Trainee Program provides structured coursework and paid on-the-job-training as a full-time, benefitted employee. Phlebotomists collect quality specimens for laboratory analysis and perform a variety of patient care and administrative support functions under the supervision of Medical Center professionals in an inpatient or outpatient setting.

All course and certification fees will be paid for by UVA Health in return for 1 year FULL-TIME commitment as an employee at UVA Health once course is completed. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Experience: No experience required. Licensure: No licensure/certifications are required to apply to this role. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires frequent walking, bending and stooping, prolonged standing; repetitive motion: extension and flexion at wrist; proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
