JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Wilkes-Barre is looking for the position of Part-Time Staff Assistant in the Athletics and Recreation Building.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring the building and enforcing security procedures for all individuals using the facility.
  • Collect payments and record receipts according to established University and campus policy.
  • Open public areas up at the start of shift; securely lock public areas if closing down facility.
  • Answer phone or inquiries in a professional manner.

This position will report directly to the Director of Athletics. Typically requires High School diploma or GED, plus one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent interpersonal and computer skills required. This position is up to 10 hours per week, mainly evenings. Flexible schedule, some weekends may be required.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
