Summary: Onix seeks an experienced Cloud Data Architect who will be vital in designing and implementing solutions that meet client business needs and support the overall cloud architecture. As a Cloud Data Architect, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT leaders, and technical teams to design and implement data architectures, including pipelines, migrations, schemas, security, and operations components.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including client executives, architects, engineers, and business stakeholders, to understand their requirements and translate them into robust cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with data technologies.

Location: Remote

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data solutions for enterprise customers. These may include ETL/ELT, Data Pipelines, warehouses, lakes, structured and unstructured data, and analytics and reporting
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and best practices for data, databases, data warehouses, data lakes, migrations, and pipelines.
  • Lead clients in the architecture and design of enterprise-level cloud engineering solutions using cloud data platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
  • Help drive the design and implementation of data solutions, ensuring they meet client requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and executives, enterprise and solution architects, engineers, and other teams to understand requirements, use cases, and business objectives.
  • Ensure quality, integrity, and governance standards are met throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in data, analytics, and related technologies, evaluate their potential impact on the organization, and recommend relevant solutions.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure data privacy, security, and compliance requirements are met within the cloud environment.
  • Help in hiring, training, and mentoring new engineers and architects on best practices
  • Partner with Delivery, and Support teams to find opportunities to reduce the manual effort needed to complete deployments.

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing or support role
  • Experience with Big Data, data engineering, data architecture, data processing, and/or data streaming
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP and their services (e.g., Glue, Redshift, BigQuery, Dataflow, etc.)
  • Experience delivering technical presentations and live demonstrations in an enterprise business environment
  • Experience with architecture design, implementing, tuning, schema design, and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems
  • Experience with developing data warehousing, data lakes, batch/real-time event processing, streaming, data processing (e.g., Extract, transform, and load /Extract, Load, and Transform), data migrations, data visualization tools, and data governance on cloud native architectures
  • Knowledge of cloud computing (e.g., infrastructure, storage, platforms, and data)
  • Proficiency in additional technologies such as Python, Spark/PySpark, Terraform, Apache Airflow, SQL, etc.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience as a consultant in the fields of cloud computing, data, information lifecycle management, and Big Data.
  • Experience in large-scale data and database migrations.
  • Familiarity with data landscape, pros and cons of leading products.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Travel Expectation: Up to 10%
