We are currently seeking a Senior Cx Engineer to join our Generation & Energy Management Team from any of the following CHA office locations: Parsippany, NJ; Boston, MA; or Colonie, NY.

CHA believes our employees should have the time and flexibility to balance work and personal commitments. This role provides the option of a hybrid schedule with a work week that includes both office and work from home days.

The Senior Cx Engineer, a key role at CHA, leads the technical execution of projects within his/her discipline and provides expert consultation in one or more areas of the respective field of engineering. At CHA, our Senior Cx Engineer plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff. This key role provides guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff. The Senior Cx Engineer provides technical development of proposals and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.)

The Senior Cx Engineer resolves highly complex technical issues, and continuously monitors the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production and uncover potential problems. The professional in this role recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections following standard procedures and recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of design.

REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) required
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience relating to commissioning and building systems is required
  • Must have experience leading commissioning projects and being the main point of contact for the commissioning team
  • Must have a strong practical and theoretical knowledge in MEP building systems, including water- side (chilled water, hot water, etc) and air-side systems and equipment
  • Must have significant experience with testing the equipment described above
  • Must be able to understand construction documents and specifications, and fully understand the design and intended operation of the associated mechanical systems
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) is required
  • General knowledge of, and the ability to commission, lighting and power systems is preferred but not required
  • Experience with life safety, plumbing, LEED, and envelope commissioning preferred but not required
  • Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline(s) with a proven ability to practically apply best practices
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Understands QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment; proven ability to lead a team
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences and communicate complex concepts
  • Excellent time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines
  • Proficiency with MS Office software required
  • Active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
  • Willing to occasionally work extra hours to meet client's demands and project schedules.
  • Position will occasionally require travel to other states in the northeast, but most work is local.


SALARY RANGE:

$105,000 - $126,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
