Job Summary	The position offers great opportunities to work in a high-quality academic environment at the University of Texas at Dallas and UT Southwestern Medical Center. Minimum Education and Experience	Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Less than 1 year of experience in research and development environment.
Preferred Education and Experience	The candidate should have a bachelor, master's, or PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering, biomedical engineering, systems engineering, computer science, or other related fields. The candidates who have experience in electronic system design (e.g., PCB design, integrated circuit design, packaging, and fabrication) or algorithm development will be preferred. Knowledge of biomedical imaging and its biological and medical applications is preferred for this position. This position requires research initiatives and independent problem-solving skills. Excellent judgment and communication skills are required for identifying and executing troubleshooting efforts for lab research activities and interactions with other units of the university and outside entities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities	The research engineer will work in a collaborative research team that includes electrical engineers, biomedical engineers, computer scientists, radiologists, surgeons, and other clinicians. The candidate will collaborate with other researchers, post-doctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students in an outstanding research group. The research laboratory is located in the Bioengineering and Science Building. The candidate will have the opportunity to have high-quality training in research, education, and leadership. Research areas cover medical devices, imaging, machine learning, augmented reality, image processing, and image-guided interventions.
