Bancroft is a leading service-provider for children and adults with autism, other intellectual or developmental disabilities or those in need of neurological rehabilitation.

We provide a full continuum of highly effective services - for people of all ages and every level of abilities - based on best practices and scientifically proven techniques. Our services include special education, vocational training, supported employment, structured day programs, group home and apartment programs both on-campus and in the community, short-term behavioral stabilization services for children, and in-home and outpatient rehabilitation services.

As a nonprofit organization, we are solely committed to supporting people with special needs and their families, to help make it One World. For Everyone. Bancroft is currently seeking a Special Education Teacher to lead our school located in Mt Laurel, NJ.

More Than a Classroom

The Bancroft School is a unique educational program that aims to empower students with autism by providing teachable moments throughout their day. In addition to traditional academic subjects, the program also focuses on daily living and social skills. Art and music, along with Adaptive Physical Education and Enrichment activities and an activity pool for water safety, swim instruction, and recreation are all part of the Bancroft experience.



Responsibilities

How You Can Make a Real Impact:

    Assess students' individual abilities and create customized lessons plans
  • Address specific Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and encourage skill-building
  • Review IEPs to ensure goals are appropriate and recommend modifications
  • Provide training for parents, in the classroom and at home
  • Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles throughout the educational experience of the people we serve
  • Communicate with students, families, and guardians

Qualifications

We're Hiring Compassionate Team Members Who:

    • Have a Bachelor's degree
    • Hold a CE, CEAS or Standard License in "NJ Pre-K to 3 or K to 6 or K-8"
    • Hold a CE, CEAS or Standard License in "NJ Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD)" or "Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH)"
    • Have effective teaching, facilitation, and communications skills
    • Minimum of one year of teaching experience in special education preferred
    • Knowledge of teaching methods and educational programs designed for students with learning, physical and behavior disabilities.
    • Effective teaching and facilitation skills required. Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills required
