Position Summary:

The Unit Associate, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in cooperation with all the members of the patient care team, provides a variety of nutritional, clinical, and transportation services and activities to promote patient comfort and satisfaction. Contributes to a positive work environment as an active team member committed to learning and skill development. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory supply and stocking units according to established procedures and standards, transporting patients and equipment, delivering records and specimens, and assisting nursing and medical personnel in delegated direct/indirect patient care activities.

Shift: 40 hours per week. Evening Shift, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Every other weekend and holiday.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills: Ability to identify clinical and environmental emergency/urgent situations and to follow established procedures.

Required Licensure, Certification: None

Work Experience:

Six months of work experience in a healthcare environment were preferred-at least six months of continuous employment.

Assessment(s): This position will require the passing of a primary computer and following instructions test to be considered.

Knowledge/Skills:




  • Knowledge of and familiarity with hospital equipment, supplies, and procedures.
  • Ability to identify clinical and environmental emergency/urgent situations and to follow established procedures.
  • Highly effective interpersonal communication skills to interact with inter-professional staff, patients, families, visitors, and other hospital employees

Salary Range: Minimum 16.40 per hour - Maximum 19.02 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
