Department's Website: The Department of Marketing graduates the largest number of undergraduate students in the Walton College. We offer a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Master of Science in Marketing focused on brand management, and a Ph.D. in Marketing. Marketing students ultimately benefit because department faculty collaborate with Walmart, J. B. Hunt Transport Inc., Sam's Club, Tyson and other leading companies with headquarters or offices in Northwest Arkansas. The department focuses on two strategic initiatives - sales and retail. It hosts one of the largest internal sales competitions and a retail shopper marketing brand challenge with partners including Walmart, Tyson, General Mills, Kimberly Clark, International Paper, Fastenal, PepsiCo, TTI/Hart, Hershey's, Hallmark, and Del Monte. The department also works closely on programming and curriculum innovation with the Retail Advisory Board. Duties and responsibilities may include providing quality teaching for assigned courses. Quality teaching includes clear course objectives, prepared and relevant class activities, effective and understandable presentations of learning materials, fair and understandable grading practices, timely responses to students, and a positive atmosphere in the classroom. Instruction may include face-to-face instruction, online instruction, or other blended methods. Additionally, providing office hours for students as prescribed by the department chair. Lastly, providing grading feedback to students in a timely manner and turn in grades by departmental and university deadlines. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
