Summary As a Value Stream Manager, you'll oversee manufacturing teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You'll oversee teams of manufacturing professionals or complex operations teams. You'll ensure performance and results are achieved, develop efficient workflows, and lead through influence. Primary Responsibilities
- Hiring, training, and managing operations team members to build a high-performing team.
- Managing operations teams to achieve operational goals and objectives.
- Developing and implementing operational policies, procedures, and efficient operational workflows,
- Leveraging daily visual management to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, as well as industry standards.
General Tasks
- Maintain strict compliance with the quality, environmental and occupational health and safety regulations and implementation of the instructions of the quality, environmental management and/or occupational health and safety officer.
- The People Leader is responsible for maintaining and improving environmental-friendly and occupational health and safety work conditions, the prevention of environmental damage and occupational accidents, occupational diseases and work-related health hazards for his or her area of responsibility.
Specific tasks include, but are not limited to, protecting the environment, completion of job hazard analysis and risk assessments, and conducting job-specific training.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
- Makes and executes decisions regarding work assignments that support KPIs and cross-training. Responsible for developing high-performing, flexible team(s) of direct and dotted line reports.
- Participates in establishing departmental goals relative to labor utilization and department efficiency. Measures factory performance to the standard.
- Tracks all applicable metrics, taking actions as necessary to meet KPI targets. Publishes performance results to key stake holders as required.
- Responsible for Establishing, Sustaining, and improving daily management for production and Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels.
- Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements
- Evaluates and recommends work center staffing needs, shift requirements and equipment needs.
- Liaise with other supervisors to formulate objectives and understand requirements
- Assess risks & safety hazards within your departments. Performance will be reviewed through EHS audits.
- Education: Possess a background in operations, manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience: Ability to set and manage goals, allocate resources, and make high quality, timely decisions.
- Skill: Proven ability to oversee teams, complex processes, or complex programs in a manufacturing environment.
- Skill: Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and ability to drive continuous improvement.
- Skill: Have excellent leadership, communication skills and skilled in project management and problem-solving.
