Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to join our Cyber Intel team here in Laurel, MD! You will be working with a massively parallel enterprise platform, built with Java on Free and Open Source Software products including Kubernetes, Hadoop and Accumulo, to enable execution of data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure. This position is on the Analytics Engine Team. We are looking for a self-motivated Java developer who proactively completes tasks with a strong attention to detail. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team. The candidate will be exposed to a variety of technologies depending on customer requirements. Minimally, the candidate should be skilled in Java and have some experience with Docker or Kubernetes, Git, and Linux. Additional knowledge of Hadoop, Accumulo, Prometheus, tracing technologies such as Jaeger, concurrent programming, and Linux OS development would benefit the candidate. Highly Desired - Familiarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

    Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
  • Eight (8) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or in a related technical field is required; An additional four (4) years of experience can be considered over the degree
    • NOTE: A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.
  • One of the following certifications required:
    • AWS Certified Developer-Associate
    • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
    • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
    • Elastic Certified Engineer

Target Salary Range

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
