Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD

Shift: Full Time (40 hours) /Day Shift

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision of a Nurse Manager, and taking into consideration the age and developmental needs of the patient, performs routine patient activities and delegated perioperative care procedures of a specialized and technical nature which includes observing and monitoring patient condition, identifying changes in collected patient data and notifying nurse, setting-up and maintaining specialized clinical equipment, knowledge of aseptic technique, collecting blood specimens and performing related, delegated nursing procedures. Is responsible for the routine operations of the perioperative/perinatal arena.

Daily operations include: hiring recommendations, supervision, staffing, evaluation and discipline of staff. Works effectively with providers and other staff to develop and implement common priorities and goals related to providing optimal customer service, maximizing operational efficiency, facilitating financial viability and rendering high quality perioperative/perinatal services. Demonstrates through leadership example, visible organizational support and a positive attitude to create a positive work environment and enhance provider and staff morale.

Minimum Qualifications:




  • Nursing Assistant certification
  • Current CPR & Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of the patients served in the perioperative setting



Education:




  • Required knowledge of health care and perioperative services through completion of Bachelors degree or related equivalent experience
  • Successful completion of a certified nursing assistant training and additional technical training appropriate to the clinical setting. This training must be at a level of medical technician, corpsman or 30 credit hours in an Allied Health discipline.



Work Experience




  • Three years' experience in perioperative setting
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Must demonstrate a record of increasing job responsibility linked to accomplishments in perioperative care management.

Salary Range: Minimum 26.65 per hour - Maximum 46.65 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
