Senior Indirect Tax Accountant

A retail company is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Senior Tax Accountant/Analyst to help their team track and maintain all business licenses, permits, and business taxes across various entities.The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and manage indirect tax returns. The ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and calculate necessary liabilities is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and maintain all business licenses and permits across multiple companies.
  • Monitor and calculate business tax liabilities in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Ensure timely payment of business taxes by providing instructions to the Accounts Payable (AP) department or processing payments directly online.
  • Prepare and file indirect tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Proactively manage renewals and track important deadlines for licenses, permits, and tax filings.
  • Work cross-functionally with AP and other departments to ensure smooth payment processing and record-keeping.
  • Maintain organized records of all business licenses, permits, and tax filings for auditing and compliance purposes.
  • Serve as the point of contact for any inquiries regarding business tax liabilities, licenses, and permits.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Proven experience in managing business licenses, permits, and indirect tax filings.
  • Strong understanding of business tax liability calculations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with indirect tax and compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency with accounting or tax software systems and payment platforms.
  • Experience in a self-starter or independent role managing cross-company tax and licensing tasks.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
