The Imaging Services and Insurance Verification Representative performs a variety of skilled and complex clerical functions using a computer and the Imaging Service Department and Hospital Information Systems. Reviews and obtains information to ensure adequate health insurance coverage or that deposit requirements for self-pay patients are met. Verifies insurance coverage and obtains authorization/pre-certification for all outpatients and for all exams with this requirement. Documents all pertinent information. Greets patients and collects appropriate data to correctly provide the customers with the requested services. Interviews patients to obtain demographic and financial data. Creates patient records and/or enter physician orders in the computer. Receives visitors and telephone calls, refers callers to the appropriate department or staff member. Takes action to resolve problems that may arise in their interaction with patients and physicians. Deals with confidential information in accordance with hospital policy. Location: Remote and Washington DC Full time Days 9:30am-6pm MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:
Salary Range: Minimum 18.29 per hour - Maximum 30.18 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
