As the Emergency Management Specialist, you will:




  • Focus on Training and Exercises and serve as the unit's lead for the development, delivery, support, oversight, and management of training through the Emergency Management Program.
  • Be responsible for developing, conducting, and evaluating exercises related to emergency preparedness and response efforts, recommending improvements (policy, infrastructure, training and equipment) pursuant to lessons learned through drills and exercises, integrating exercises into health system plans.
  • Conduct, coordinate, and write all After Action Reports / Improvement Plans (AAR/IP).
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of the multi-year training and exercise plan (MYTEP). Preferred certifications include FEMA Master Exercise Practitioner Program (MEPP) and/or IAEM Certified Emergency Manager (CEM).
  • Support local emergency management leadership with development and operational readiness of emergency operations / preparedness plans and departmental continuity plans.
  • Serve in a command position during activations of incident command.
  • Other duties as assigned to support JHMOEM operations.



What you'll bring:





  • 3+ years of previous work experience in an emergency management, public health, or public health or public service field. Master's degree will substitute for 2 years of work experience.





  • Bachelor's degree. Master's in emergency management, public health, or similar concentration is preferred.





  • Knowledge in emergency management including the incident command system and national incident management system.





  • Competency in hazard vulnerability assessments; program development, implementation, and evaluation; as well as policy creation.





  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.





  • Strong analytical, planning, and research skills.





  • Certification if healthcare emergency management (i.e., CHEP), or equivalent, preferred.





About us:

Salary Range: Minimum 33.40 per hour - Maximum 55.16 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
