SMT Machine Operator

The SMT Operator runs the Surface Mount Placement machine (Pick and Place) to manufacture printed circuit board assemblies. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Essential Functions

1. Adhere to the company's ISO Quality Management System.

2. Follow internal assembly process documentation ensuring product meets internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.

3. Load and run established machine programs.

4. Perform preventative and general maintenance on machines.

5. Operate machine following work order documentation.

6. Review boards and components in process and post assembly for defects and consistency to ensure accuracy.

7. Ensure completion of SMT equipment maintenance according to established procedures and document appropriately.

8. Remove parts that do not meet production process standards and notify management of product discrepancies and/or equipment malfunctions.

9. Ensure work area is kept clean and free of debris.

10. Adhere to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.

11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience


  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum of 1 year of electronic experience.
  • Knowledge of electronic components.
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Preferred Education and Experience


  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • Previous Machine Operating experience.
