Job Description

This posting is intended to be a continuous posting to collect applications for teaching roles we have throughout the year. These teaching adjuncts will be asked to teach a variety of legal courses offered at the UMKC School of Law.

Qualifications

  • Masters or Juris Doctorate degree at a minimum is required
  • Experience practicing law is preferred
  • Experience teaching is preferred
Anticipated Hiring Range

Pay will vary depending on candidates education and experience, the course(s) being taught, and the total number of credit hours. Contracts are generally issued on a semester-by-semester basis.

An official copy of transcripts(s), showing degree(s) with courses completed, and conferring institution will be required before an official offer is made to the candidate.

The University requires that we maintain an official copy of your higher education transcripts. An official copy of the transcript showing the highest degree and any other transcript relevant to the course taught must be sent to the Office of the Dean, Attention: Steve Leben, Associate Dean, School of Law, 500 E. 52nd Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64110. Official transcripts may also be e-mailed to sleben@umkc.edu. Your appointment is contingent upon verification of your degree.

You must combine all application materials (a letter expressing interest in and perspectives on the position, curriculum vita, a writing sample and other supporting materials, as well as contact information of four references) into one PDF or Microsoft Word document and upload as your resume attachment. Limit document name to 50 characters. Size limit 11MB. Do not include special characters (e.g., /, &, %, etc.).
