Another Source's client, University of Idaho, is recruiting a Technical Product Manager to join their team in Moscow, ID. This role can be remote but with preferred location being local to the university.

Salary range: $84,000 - $94,000

About the role:

The Technical Product Manager contributes to the planning, design, and development of enterprise applications. This position is responsible for the success of a product or family of products. This position will work closely with cross-functional business leaders, peers, and technology leadership to ensure systems are positioned for the growth of the University. This includes performing or supervising analysis, design, development, and testing, to ensure the deployment of reliable, secure, and scalable business-critical applications and platforms. The Technical Product Manager works in a collaborative environment with business and technology owners and fosters a culture of teamwork and support across the University and within the technology team. This position is a blend of product and project leadership and will require partnering with cross functional teams to achieve high performance levels with application services and support the alignment of team activities with the university's business needs.

What you will be doing:

Provide Vison and Leadership for a Product or Product Portfolio by: 30%

    Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a Product or Portfolio of related Products
  • Understanding of available Enterprise Platforms
  • Understanding of and representing user needs.
  • Defining a vision for a product and creating product roadmaps
  • Aligning stakeholders around the vision for the product
  • Prioritizing product features and capabilities.
  • Ensuring effective cross-functionality and collaboration between teams
  • Determining metrics for success
  • Collecting and interpreting customer feedback
  • Coordinate with other Product Managers on prioritizing, scheduling, architecting, and communicating change across the University
  • Managing customer satisfaction and well as adhering to service level targets.

Provide Product Ownership and Project Management by: 40%

  • Ensuring development projects and software deployments meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and comply with all applicable security, privacy, audit requirements and regulations and delivered with the highest quality.
  • Managing the product lifecycle, creating upgrade and testing schedules and coordinating regression, QA and UAT testing
  • Managing a product backlog, gathering requirements and user stories, prioritizing tasks, monitoring progress, and providing feedback.
  • Developing technical design documents, architectural diagrams and process flows by collaborating with peers and team members.
  • Performing continuous review of technologies, industry standards and industry-related developments and making recommendations relative to the need for further research and associated changes.
  • Delivering projects and initiatives to meet organizational priorities and timelines.

Manage Key Partner Relationships by: 10%

  • Representing organizational IT in meetings related to your supported product family.
  • Creating and promoting a culture of excellent customer service.
  • Establishing and maintaining ties with colleagues throughout the institution to ensure optimal collaboration and coordination of effort.
  • Maintaining relationships with technology vendors for the department and/or business owners.
  • Maintaining relationships with leadership, business owners and end users to better understand their needs and address organizational goals.

Serve as IT owner for Ellucian ERP and related technologies by: 20%

  • Developing and maintaining a knowledge and understanding of the composition of the Ellucian Banner ERP system and suite of products
  • Serving as Banner General Module lead
  • Keeping current with all Ellucian releases, feature sets, and roadmaps
  • Monitoring and driving the improvement of our ERP systems and associated suite of products to ensure performance, accessibility and usability best practices are met
  • Resolving issues or performing maintenance within supported Ellucian Banner systems
  • Developing automated and versatile reporting utilizing Argos, Azure DevOps, Team Dynamix, and other tools as needed
  • Provide ad hoc reporting for special projects and single time data requests

Required experience

  • Three years working with software applications in a technical or functional support role
  • Prioritizing work and ensuring projects and workloads are completed on time
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
