Initial appointment will be for two years, with the possibility of reappointment. Should the hiring unit propose reappointment; a review to assess performance will be conducted. Reappointment is also contingent upon the availability of funding. Working under the supervision of CITRIS Director, Rebecca Fenwick, the coordinator will work as part of the CIDER team on overall drone education program development. They will also serve as the lead facilitator for the extracurricular Pilot Training Program, which offers non-credit-bearing training opportunities for students, staff, faculty, and members of the public throughout the calendar year. The position includes a focus on drone education and curriculum development, undergraduate student training, and grant writing. The CIDER team supports campus-wide academic and research drone efforts and activities and it supports intercampus program coordination. The team also provides drone and workforce development workshops for the community and our partners. The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in drone field work, potentially in remote locations, and will be expected to stay up-to-date on the latest drone technologies applicable to the program. Applicants with expertise in Drone/UAS development, application, use, education program management, and graduate-level scientific expertise are strongly encouraged to apply.
