Description
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. This position is responsible for maintenance production support and repair of all mechanical equipment related to a 24/7 chemical manufacturing facility in Greensboro, North Carolina. This individual will be assigned daily tasks that include but are not limited to schedules, preventive maintenance processes, replace equipment, repair equipment and make suggestions on how to improve and eliminate issues encountered in the plant.

This position works Monday through Friday 7 AM - 3 PM with a paid 30 minute on-site lunch. Every 5-6 weeks this individual will be expected to respond and report to the site (Friday - Thursday) if an issue arises that causes production downtime, outside of their normal shift. During this time, the normal shift worked will be Monday - Thursday (10 hours).

Working safely is first and foremost a requirement for this position. Aurorium is driving a safety culture and is looking for employees that come from strong safety background companies and understand the processes of safety observations, management of change and safety culture. Aurorium is a chemical company and requires a higher level of safety when working on site.

The individual will have a good attitude and work well with others and communicate effectively.

Job Details

Role Specific Responsibilities:


    • The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing all functions necessary for plant maintenance in support of the overall site operations
      * The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of tasks including preventive, scheduled, and emergency mechanical maintenance and is a multi-craft mechanic with an emphasis on rotating equipment
      * Ensures workplace safety by participating in the Behavior Based Safety Observations while practicing and following all site safety policies, guidelines, and procedures
      * Provides maintenance to plant utilities equipment and rotating equipment repairs including ANSI pump repair, mechanical seal installation/trouble shooting, alignment methods and bearing fits/tolerances
      * Performs centrifugal pump repair inclusive of mechanical seal installation and other rotating equipment repair involving gear reduction drives, agitators and blowers
      * Executes additional general maintenance duties including industrial pipe, heat exchanger repair, rigging/crane use, etc
      *Identifies, diagnoses, and communicates issues that arise with equipment
      * Completes preventative maintenance duties and records information on work orders.
      * Performs daily activities independently (or with a team) with minimal supervision while maintaining communication with supervisor
      * Required to be a part of the Confined space rescue team
      * Proficiency within a CMMS for creating and completing work orders
      * Acts with integrity, and holds themselves accountable to their decisions and actions
    • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


    • High School Diploma or equivalent required

    • Minimum four (4) years of related industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred;chemical manufacturing experience preferred
      Experience wearing required PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, steel toe shoes, gloves and a respirator

      • Demonstrated knowledge of rotating equipment repairs, specifically ANSI pump repair, mechanical seal installation/trouble shooting, alignment methods, bearing fits/tolerances, etc.
      • Ability to utilize dial indicator, calipers and other machinist measuring tools
      • Demonstrated knowledge of welded repair techniques for both structural and pipe materials
      • Proficiency within a CMMS for creating and completing work orders
      • Excellent understanding of safety practices, specifically LO/TO, JSA and best practices for maintenance tasks
      • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities
      • Self-motivated and ability to work within a fast-paced environment
      • Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills
      • Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work such as lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 pounds, working outside in all weather conditions, climbing ladders, etc.
      • Willingness to work a non-standard shift, weekends, and/or overtime required
