Overview: Mobile Crisis Response Clinician - DeWitt County
This full-time position at Heritage Behavioral Health Center - Dewitt will work with a team of dedicated individuals to provide access to services for people with immediate behavioral health needs in DeWitt and Piatt Counties. The Clinician will help individuals cope during difficult circumstances, identify what services will best meet an individual's needs, and help that person to engage with those services. Additionally, they will work with other Heritage staff and community providers to successfully resolve crises, navigate resources, and address treatment needs. This position provides services in a variety of community settings, and collaboratively engages with other providers including emergency departments, law enforcement, schools, and other social service providers.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Telephone and face-to-face interventions
- Quick and timely responses to people requesting access to services
- Crisis assessment, counseling, and referral and linkage to treatment services
- Supportive follow-up and warm hand-offs
- Linking individuals who are transitioning between residential and community-based treatment
- Assessing strengths and needs, and developing plans to help people meet short- and long-term goals
- Assisting other staff in navigating the immediate behavioral health needs of individuals
- Working directly with individuals to access community resources and entitlements
- Collaborating as a team member with clinicians, nurses, healthcare providers, probation departments, landlords, and other people supporting an individual's recovery
- Attending team meetings and clinical staff meetings
- Ability to participate in providing services after hours as part of a rotation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to engage individuals when they are asking for help and decrease barriers to accessing treatment
- Organized
- Knowledge of community resources and/or how to find them
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work as a team player
- Previous experience working with individuals with a mental health and substance use diagnoses
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to navigate electronic health record
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, psychology, or similar field or more than five years of supervised experience in behavioral health treatment required.
- Valid drivers license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance are required.
Salary Range: $47,840 - $75,000 per year, dependent on education and experience
