Job Summary

Are you interested in helping to create web experiences that showcase some of the best art and art scholarship in the world? Getty Digital is looking for a Senior Digital Content Designer to join our team. We're looking for a collaborative problem-solver to provide content-design expertise across the Getty as part of the Digital Visitor Experience division. The Content Designer will work with internal stakeholders and organizational partners to design and deliver end-to-end product flows, frameworks, and content models to share and showcase the Getty's work.

Someone in this role will partner with several software engineering teams and colleagues to develop content strategy, information architecture, and content design for our platform, along with iterating on and improving the existing content modeling. You will research, write, test, and help implement experiences that share Getty's resources and information with the larger world. This work will focus on the main Getty.edu website but also overlap with the museum collections, research archives, digital publications, and other web-based applications. Our ideal candidate loves the practice of content design and cares about the details. You think at a systems level when solving complex and ambiguous problems and enjoy being at the intersections of many disciplines and teammates. You enjoy collaboration and working closely with UX design, product management, engineering teams, and stakeholders to articulate a clear strategy that is centered on our users.

The Getty is among the most prestigious cultural heritage organizations, dedicated to furthering the study of the history of art. You will work among world-class art, architecture, and archives, collaborating with scientists, curators, librarians, archivists, and academics. We offer four weeks of vacation a year, every other Friday off, excellent benefits, and a very strong dedication to balancing work and personal life.

At Getty Digital, we're re-imagining how we can use technology to provide access to our campus, collections, and scholarship. We intend to provide a deeply linked, consistent experience for scholars, researchers, and enthusiasts as they explore the complex information held across Getty. We believe that the best products are built by teams with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and ideas. We strive to provide a collaborative environment where all team members have the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to what we build and the achievement of Getty's overall vision.
