The goal of the Clinical Pharmacist I is to promote the safe and effective use of medications by working collaboratively with prescribers and the multidisciplinary health care team. This position contributes to the goals of the department by providing safe medication therapy to our patients and identifying, resolving, and preventing drug-related problems in the pediatric setting. Along with other members of the health care team, this role is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high standards of care provided by JHACH.

Minimum Requirements:




  • Education


    • Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a Pharm.D. or BSPharm


  • Relevant Experience

    • Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency OR 2 years hospital experience
    • Pediatric experience preferred


  • Licensure/Certification
  • Eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Florida required. Must be obtained prior to start date.
  • PALS certification preferred. Must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Skills and Abilities

    • Demonstrates high level of skills related to teamwork, organization, and prioritization of workflow.
    • Displays customer service and interpersonal communication skills required for effective communication with patients and health care providers.
    • Demonstrates high level of analytical ability in order to research and evaluate drug information, interpret patient specific data, and resolve problems regarding medication use.
    • Requires comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, kinetics, therapeutic drug monitoring and literature retrieval and evaluation as it relates to patient care within the area of specialty practice.
    • Requires working knowledge of pharmacoeconomic principles.
    • Committed to teaching, mentoring, and coaching health care professionals, students, and residents.





Shift and Schedule:

Rotating Shift: Every 4th Weekend

Salary Range: Minimum 57.95 per hour - Maximum 92.73 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
