Position title: Academic Surgical Pathologist Salary range:
The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $260,000 - $325,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. The successful candidates will have clinical responsibilities for specimens generated from multiple clinical programs within the UC San Diego Health clinical facilities, as well as our referral/outreach/consultation programs and an expanding clinical integration network. The successful candidates will attend and sign-out on the multiple clinical subspecialty services within the Anatomic Pathology Division. The teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows is also expected. The appropriate series and appointment as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor will be based on the candidate's background and experience. Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, DO, or MD/PhD in pathology or related fields. Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Anatomic or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Additional qualifications

Candidates must have completed fellowship training in a Subspecialty of Surgical Pathology (such as Breast, Head and Neck, Cardiac/Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, or Gynecologic Pathology) by the start of the appointment. Preferred qualifications
Candidates with a minimum of 3 years of sign-out experience in a subspecialty area of surgical pathology within a subspecialized sign out system are preferred. Application Requirements Document requirements
