International Rescue Committee | Diversity Employer
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) helps people affected by humanitarian crises—including the climate crisis—to survive, recover and rebuild their lives. Founded at the call of Albert Einstein in 1933, the IRC is now at work in over 40 crisis-affected countries as well as communities throughout Europe and the Americas. We deliver lasting impact by providing health care, helping children learn, and empowering individuals and communities to become self-reliant, always seeking to address the inequalities facing women and girls.
- We serve people whose lives have been upended by war, conflict and natural disasters
- We work in countries where people don’t have the support they need to recover from crisis
- We respond within 72 hours, staying to help countries stabilize and people rebuild their lives
- We resettle refugees welcomed by the United States, helping them to succeed and thrive
Our Mission
The mission of the IRC is to help people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster, including the climate crisis, to survive, recover and gain control over their future.
Diversity, Equality and Inclusion
Inequalities of power exist not just in international humanitarian organizations but in our own organization and reflect some profound historic injustices. We can do better—in some aspects, much better—in ensuring through our systems and processes for hiring and promotion that our organization at all levels reflects the diversity of the places we work and the people we serve.
We are committed to anti-racism and fighting discrimination, understanding the systemic underpinnings, and recognizing that different parts of the world experience these issues in different ways. Tackling discrimination within the humanitarian sector is not optional.
Careers
Responding to the world's worst humanitarian crises in a great variety of roles, the International Rescue Committee's staff is a force for humanity and hope. If you're skilled and passionate, we'd like to add your energy to ours.
