Sparrow Health System
Sparrow is Your Hometown Health System
Sparrow is the Lansing area’s only community-owned, community-governed health system. We’re a not-for-profit organization, and our board is made up of local leaders who call Mid-Michigan home. Our patients are also our neighbors, family and friends.
Sparrow’s impact is felt across Mid-Michigan at more than 115 sites of care: at E.W. Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, community hospitals in Carson City, Charlotte, Ionia and St. Johns, and the 478 Sparrow primary care providers and specialists serving patients across the region.
Mission
To improve the health of the people in our communities by providing quality, compassionate care to everyone, every time.
Vision
To be nationally recognized as a leader in quality and patient experience.

Diversity & Inclusion
Our culture of inclusion runs deep.
Our Patient population is diverse, so it benefits the mid-Michigan region to have a diverse population of health care providers. Sparrow's recruiting efforts reflect our interest in building a workforce that offers our Patients more than professional skill.
Sparrow established its first Workplace Diversity Plan in 1992. We believe that, through our similarities, we can bridge our differences and enhance our ability to serve a broad Patient base. We are dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Sparrow leaders actively work to create and maintain a respectful and engaged work culture. Leadership assessment skills and diversity education are part of ongoing efforts which ensure inclusion at Sparrow. Initiatives like alternative work schedules and leave, childcare, and employee assistance programs—offer ways to fit your personal needs into your work life.
Careers
Sparrow is a growing health system with two Lansing campuses, hospitals in St. Johns, Ionia, Charlotte, and Carson City as well as dozens of satellite care centers, Physicians Health Plan, Sparrow Physicians Health Network, the Sparrow Medical Group and the Sparrow Michigan Athletic Club (MAC).

Our Emergency Department is the only Level I Trauma Center in mid-Michigan. A separate, pediatric ED is specifically designed for Patients under 19.
Whether you choose to specialize in a narrow niche or experience the range of roles available, we'll help you find the position that fulfills you. Many of our Caregivers are non-clinical, yet they are every bit as critical to Sparrow's mission.
