Job Summary

A Funeral Home Director is a professional responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of funeral services. This position requires a combination of compassion, organization, and business skills to provide comfort and support to families during difficult times.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to discuss funeral arrangements and coordinate services
  • Advise clients on funeral products, services, and costs
  • Prepare and file legal documents, such as death certificates and permits
  • Transport and prepare the deceased for burial or cremation
  • Arrange and oversee visitations, wakes, and memorial services
  • Coordinate with cemeteries, crematoriums, and other funeral service providers
  • Manage the funeral home's budget, staff, and operations
  • Handle customer complaints or issues with tact and professionalism
  • Keep up-to-date on industry regulations, trends, and practices
  • Provide grief support and resources to clients and their families.
