Substitute Teacher
Job Summary
Temporarily fills in for regular teachers when they are unable to work their shift to make sure their lesson plan is followed and that the classroom continues to operate smoothly.
Primary Responsibilities
- Adheres to the teacher’s existing lesson plan
- Assigns both classwork and homework
- Grades assignments promptly
- Keeps record of students' progress so issues can be addressed upon the teacher’s return
- Prepares notes and classroom materials
- Encourages active participation in the classroom
- Keeps a safe and clean learning environment
- Reports incidents to the principal, when necessary
- Provides helpful feedback to students
