The Sr. Manager - General Consultation, RPAT will lead and motivate a group of Retirement Consultants and focus on team targets, Consultant productivity, call quality, customer experience and operational excellence. This role will select, train, and coach new Consultants, and develop processes to achieve productivity efficiencies including decreasing the time from on-boarding to successfully achieving goals. This role will continue the growth and success of tenured Consultants already in the role. Utilize the EMPOWER model to deliver Customer services that include distributions into or out of plans, saving, investing, consolidating and investing in additional products or services based on the participant's needs. Areas of key focus will include IRA, Stay In Plan, Taxable Brokerage, and in a future state, to include Roll-Ins.

What you will do

  • Responsible for the development and speed to proficiency of new hires, including deep knowledge of RPAT plan rules, processes, procedures, and key stakeholders - inclusive of plan advisors, third-party administrators, and internal Workplace Solutions partners.
  • Manage a team to optimize productivity, effectiveness and customer outcomes.
  • Achieve headcount targets and retention of Consultants through hiring, training, coaching and developing associates and through implementation of recognition programs.
  • Actively seek promotional opportunities for reps into senior level teams by accelerating rep development curve
  • Work directly with Retirement Consultants to achieve high quality and efficient customer engagements.
  • Support the ongoing editing of existing content and creations of new guidelines and materials for Retirement Consultants.
  • Instill a culture of coaching and consistent feedback.
  • Lead and participate in individual goals, projects and company meetings as necessary.
  • As the principal of assigned representatives, will be responsible for ensuring that all supervisory controls are in place and regular audits are performed and documented.
  • Fields and ensures resolution of escalated issues from representatives, clients, and participants.
  • Identifies trends in escalated issues and proactively addresses with staff.
  • Act as in a supervisory principal capacity approving best interest fiduciary advice and new account openings for representatives.
  • Drive operational excellence by addressing and reducing errors and escalations.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience
  • FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 registrations are required within corporate-established timelines. A Series 9/10 FINRA license is acceptable in lieu of the FINRA 24 license.
  • FINRA fingerprinting required.
  • 3-5 years of relatable financial experience and/or leadership, preferred
  • 2-4 years demonstrated success in financial services, preferred
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively manage associates and customer concerns on a daily basis.
  • Motivated, self-starter with the ability to master new information quickly and independently.
  • In-depth understanding of IRAs, retirement investment products/services and the qualified retirement plan environment.
  • Advocates team review and continuous development of processes to create best practices.
  • Leads by example, fostering and environment that encourages professional growth and promotes sharing of best practices and organizational learning.
  • Actively facilitates and reinforces a customer-focused culture; employs critical thinking and problem solving while taking a new perspective on existing solutions to promote customer loyalty.
  • Quickly identifies and clearly addresses customer-impacting training and performance gaps.
  • Advocates customer and associate input, takes action, delegates and/or addresses with leadership in order to remedy procedural, systemic and/or resource constraints.
  • Manages and measures work; mitigates risks and creates efficiencies.
  • Networks cross-functionally, encouraging and facilitating communications and best practice sharing within and across individuals, team, departments and/or sites.
  • Openly and genuinely gives credit to other and actively showcases success stories; refrains from creating silos or speaking as us vs. them ; avoids blaming, and models personal accountability
  • Manages leadership pipeline; challenges all team members to grow in current position
  • Excellent written, verbal, consulting and presentation skills
  • Manages resources, priorities, sets goals and objectives; develops performance Proficient knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and various file manipulation skills on a PC

Base Salary Range

$92,400.00 - $130,500.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
