LISC is one of the country's largest community development organizations, helping forge vibrant, resilient communities across America. LISC works with residents and partners to close gaps in health, wealth, and opportunity so that people and places can thrive. We do this by acting as a conduit for grants, loans and equity--and by providing technical assistance and capacity building--to locally rooted organizations that carry out the work in communities.

Position Overview

LISC's National Communications team seeks a graphic designer with a broad skillset. This is a highly collaborative position, and we are seeking someone who enjoys teamwork as much as working independently to carry out a project to a high standard. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are willing to roll up your sleeves and pitch in on a range of tasks, wherever you're needed. And you are equally at ease working with images and words to convey LISC messages and work.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging designs for internal and external projects. Projects range from digital annual reports, social media graphics, presentations, and printed research reports.
  • With oversight from the Senior Communications Officer, develop, manage and organize a library of design templates on Canva for Teams for internal staff to use as needed.
  • Manage the organization and collection of LISC National Communication's media library.
  • Manage the design needs for internal stationary store.
  • Coordinate and project manage design consultant relationships.
  • Incorporate accessibility standards into existing and future design projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of design work and a creative portfolio.
  • Eye for detail and ability to maintain brand consistency; possess a strong knowledge of design standards.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with internal staff and communicate design concepts to stakeholders.
  • Candidates must be comfortable working on Windows platform and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with both printed and digital design best practices.
  • Experience with accessible design.
  • Deep knowledge of presentation design.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Experience with Canva for Teams and Photoshelter.
  • A passion for good, clear design that succinctly telegraphs complicated subject matter; you have excellent time management and multitasking skills, the ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks and duties, and work independently while meeting deadlines.
  • A personal affinity for LISC's mission and vision for dismantling systemic barriers to equity and inclusion.
