PURPOSE OF POSITION

To design, develop, and deliver courseware through instruction/facilitation in a classroom environment.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate of the USAF Weapons School or Fighter Weapons School. Bachelor's degree in Education or a related discipline is preferred.

Training and Experience: Previous instructor/evaluator experience.

Desired Experience: More than 1,500 flying hours in a Weapons School or Fighter Weapon School aircraft listed above. More than 500 instructor flying hours in an aircraft listed above. Previous experience as a Weapons School or an academic (FTU) platform instructor. Qualified in the aircraft within the preceding four (4) years or qualified as a contract instructor within the preceding two (2) years. Have attended the military Instructional System Development (ISD) course or civilian equivalent. Previous experience in the design and development of instructional materials.

General Skills: Passionate about learning and learning processes. Must possess strong technical writing skills and highly developed collaboration, communication, organizational and facilitation abilities. Able to express ideas clearly in documents and facilitate concepts in a classroom setting with appropriate organization, structure and grammar. Capable of adjusting language and terminology to meet the characteristics and needs of the audience. Ability to effectively manage numerous tasks and projects simultaneously. Ability to foster teamwork throughout the organization. Ability to work individually and as part of a team. Must possess strong interpersonal skills. Ability to develop technical and conceptual content. Ability to design learning activities that take advantage of principles of adult learning, participant-centered learning, effective facilitation and debriefing techniques. Ability to establish and maintain customer-oriented relationships, including listening to and understanding the customer (both internal and external) and placing high priority on customer satisfaction

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain/maintain a "Top Secret/SCI" security clearance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Instructs and measures training process of students who train in the established aircrew training curriculum.


  • Conducts briefings and debriefings and counsels with student to develop and maintain a high level of proficiency.


  • Performs administrative duties relative to training, such as recordkeeping, monitoring student progress, counseling, training development and maintenance of training programs.


  • Maintains a high level of subject knowledge, capability and expertise.


  • Develops, analyzes and reviews all assigned courseware and related materials IAW the current Air Force model of ISD as defined in AFH 36-2235 Vol. 1.

    • Uses needs assessment analysis to determine relevant training requirements.
    • Performs task and performance standard analysis to identify training requirements.
    • Analyzes resources and constraints to establish the most effective and appropriate training intervention.
    • Writes performance-based or behavioral objectives and sequences them in a logical fashion.
    • Designs and develops instructional materials.
    • Evaluates the effectiveness of training and course presentation.
    • Develops exam and performance evaluation materials.
    • Gathers required information in support of objectives via research of government furnished materials (GFM) and other resources
    • Locates and extracts information from technical documents, and certifies the results in a standard format to incorporate into lesson materials.




  • Analyzes test items and cumulative data for trends, and performs basic trend analysis.


  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of all applicable regulations, instructions, procedures, Technical Orders, and other publications as outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW).


  • Reviews and/or revises courseware materials on both a scheduled and out-of-cycle basis IAW the SOW.

    • Schedules lesson reviews and/or revisions according to the normal revision cycle (based on an approximate annual schedule).
    • Reviews and evaluates courseware for further revision based on minor courseware changes and technical updates.
    • Prioritizes workload and responds to urgent tasking events in a timely manner




  • Develops, coordinates, and produces a specialty specific courseware development schedule which identifies projected milestones and time phasing of courseware delivery throughout the year; updates this scheduled as required.


  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
