Application Deadline: Wednesday, July 23, 2025 Energy Modernization Project The Energy Modernization Project aims to secure decarbonization policies to advance clean energy technologies and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the United States. The project's work will center on policies that accelerate the transition to electric vehicles, deploy offshore wind energy production, and modernize electricity grids to increase their capacity to deploy new renewable energy resources. Position Overview The officer will serve as a lead campaigner and policy advocate for state-level policies that modernize the transmission grid and accelerate adoption of large-scale and local, distributed energy generation. Reporting to the senior manager, energy modernization, state campaigns, the officer will collaborate with project leadership to develop strategies and implement legislative and regulatory campaigns across multiple priority states. The officer works closely with colleagues to manage policy initiatives, represents the project to key external decision makers and stakeholder groups, and oversees external contractors and grantees to meet programmatic objectives. The officer will also play a lead role in working closely with communications and government relations colleagues to develop content for the website and other external campaign communications materials. Located in Pew's Washington, DC, office, this position will participate in Pew's core in-office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and will have flexibility to work from home the remainder of the week. Travel This position requires domestic travel to meetings and conferences, including up to 35% of the time during key periods. Work Authorization Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country for which they are seeking employment without visa sponsorship. Salary Range $110,800 USD - $123,800 USDThe salary range represents a reasonable estimate of the annual salary based on Pew's commitment to provide equitable and market-competitive pay.
