Overview

To manage the daily operations for the implementation and support of infrastructure platforms for delivering applications. To manage scalable, reliable, and reusable platforms, tools, and environments for application development, deployment, and operations. The Manager I manages professionals and is accountable for the performance and results of a team. Decisions are guided by policies, resources and business plan. Develop, manage and guide execution of operational initiatives to achieve tactical objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation, support, and lifecycle management of OpenShift Container Platform and associated container orchestration infrastructure
  • Oversee the delivery and support of Red Hat Dev Spaces to enable cloud-native development workflows
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to integrate Ansible Automation Platform into platform operations and developer onboarding
  • Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and performance across containerized workloads and developer environments
  • Monitor and improve resource utilization, uptime, and performance of container platforms and developer tools
  • Ensure policies, practices, and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers, and stakeholders
  • Manages a functionally similar team; adapts plans and sets priorities to meet service and/or operational goals
  • Makes recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology
  • Oversee and execute:
    • Infrastructure that supports application development (e.g., CI/CD pipelines)
    • Frameworks, libraries, and tools to provide standardize development and operations
    • Cloud services, container orchestration, and virtualization
    • Optimize platform reliability, scalability, and automation
    • Enable developers to focus on building applications by abstracting complexities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or the equivalent combination of education, training or experience
  • 5 - 7 years relative work experience
  • 1 - 3 years of management experience; or equivalent experience as the subject matter lead or expert in area of expertise
  • Broad knowledge of designing and developing software platforms with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Ability to guide, influence and persuade others, primarily internally
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
