Washington, DC Pay From: $40 per hour MUST: 2+ years of experienced Registered Nurse (Registered Nurse) Must have current and good standing licensed as a Registered Nurse Experience in Occupational Health is a plus BSN preferred not required Must be CPR and AED certified Must have BSN or related experience Must have current hands on clinical experience as a floor nurse DUTIES: Registered Nurse will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: Will be seeing a diverse group of patients Perform assessments and make recommendations for treatment and referrals Provides primary nursing care, orientation and education, without the direct supervision of physicians during normal conditions and emergencies Assessment, monitoring and interpretation of patient s condition Provide first aid and acute nursing care, if applicable Administration of non-prescription medications and treatments Health education of the patient (e.g., diet counseling, exercise, risk factors, etc. tailored to his physical and/or mental medical condition), and Referral of the patient to a physician for comprehensive treatment and follow up clinical management of occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries implement evacuation to the nearest medical care facility, when needed for emergency cases Administers medicines recommended and prescribed by Medical Consultant or by the staff member s private physician through telephone/written orders Implements the Pre-employment, Periodic, and Consultant's Medical Examinations by executing blood extractions and collection of samples for the laboratory tests, performing and evaluating electrocardiograms, and collaborating with the attending physician in carrying out the physical examination, including pap smears Implements the Travel Medicine Program, providing the traveler with health maintenance and disease prevention information, and vaccinations required to the specific country to be traveled Collaborates with the planning and implementation of the Preventive Medicine Programs (e.g., lectures, workshops, health screenings, CPR training, influenza immunization, ergonomic workstation evaluations, etc.) which ensures education of the staff regarding health issues as well as safeguard their health Maintains chart/ electronic medical files for every staff member where pertinent medical data is registered and medical reports are stored In addition, completes charting in electronic medical record for each patient visit Charting must include the reason for the visit and the nursing intervention performed Quadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
