White Pine Innovations is seeking aNetwork Engineer to support the Defense Security Cooperation University (DSCU) at Wright-Patterson AFB (Dayton), OH. The Network Engineer will provide critical support for the Defense Security Assistance Management System (DSAMS) while also contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of DSCU's LAN. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide administrative and technical support for DSAMS to include user assistance, curriculum development, training delivery, and troubleshooting through the DSAMS Service Desk.
- Partner with instructors to ensure DSAMS content remains accurate and up to date across training courses and perform user acceptance testing.
- Monitor DSAMS system performance, identify anomalies, and recommend improvements to enhance usability.
- Configure, install, and maintain network hardware and software with accurate documentation of all installations and updates.
- Manage and monitor LAN operations to support stability, security, and performance while responding to support requests in a timely manner.
- Support the planning and design of LAN expansions and provide recommendations based on industry best practices and DSCU requirements.
- Operate and troubleshoot DSCU's Video Teleconference (VTC) system to ensure reliable connectivity for meetings and events.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in network engineering or IT systems administration.
- Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret Clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Network Admin Token in compliance with DoD 8140 requirements.
- Active Security+ certification with strong knowledge of DoD security procedures and compliance standards.
- Proven ability to manage and maintain LANs with experience in configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Experience with CISCO network equipment.
- Experience with CIENA Optical Transport Network equipment.
- Professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principles and familiarity with related engineering fields.
- Practical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform routine to more complex engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructions.
