Database Administrator (SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL) Ft. Meade, MD Pay From: $135,000 per year MUST: Active TS/SCI CI poly required Senior level experienced Database Administrator (SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL) 6-8 years of experience in database administration Proficiency in database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python for automation is a plus. Strong knowledge of database optimization techniques, query performance tuning, and indexing strategies. Experience with DoD 8570 compliance and Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II Certification. Familiarity with database security controls and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-53, RMF). Experience developing and executing data backup, recovery, and archiving processes. Strong understanding of data modeling and relational database concepts. Ability to analyze database issues and identify efficient solutions to ensure uninterrupted operations. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across functional teams. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred (highly desired) DUTIES: Design, implement, and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable database systems that meet customer requirements. You will support a variety of database-related tasks, including performance tuning, data modeling, query optimization, and disaster recovery planning. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring database security compliance, and providing expertise to enhance data management processes. Design, develop, and maintain database systems to ensure data integrity, reliability, and scalability. Perform database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, backups, and recovery operations. Optimize database performance by analyzing and resolving bottlenecks in queries and system configuration. Manage database access and security, adhering to DoD and organizational policies. Create and maintain database documentation, including schemas, processes, and operational procedures. Collaborate with development and engineering teams to design and implement efficient database solutions. Perform data modeling to align with business requirements and system functionality. Monitor and analyze database systems to ensure high availability and performance. Develop and test disaster recovery and continuity plans for databases. Utilize database tools to identify, analyze, and resolve complex database issues. Implement and maintain compliance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) benchmarks.
