Job Summary

The Picture Archival and Communication System (PACS) Analyst is responsible for providing technical support and overseeing operations of daily PACS workflows to ensure optimal performance and data integrity. This role acts as a liaison for digital imaging initiatives and education within the department and across the entire user base. The PACS Analyst collaborates with IT, radiologists, technologists, and other stakeholders to complete system updates, user training, image sharing, and optimization of system functionality.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Communicate effectively with customers to diagnose client needs, identify issues, and guide learning as needed.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, troubleshooting, and data reconciliation of PACS and imaging systems.
  • Coordinate with service representatives, customers, quality/compliance team, and information technology staff to facilitate optimization projects, integrations, and system audits.
  • Participate in imaging system upgrades, testing, and documentation.
  • Support radiologist dictation software and associated applications.
  • Develop, document, and communicate PACS related policies and procedures.
  • Identify problems and assist with implementation of solutions or process improvements.
  • Provide or coordinate training for caregivers across the user base on PACS and ancillary imaging applications.
  • Establish image sharing connections to provide seamless continuation of care for our patients.
  • Manage user access of imaging applications.
  • All other duties as assigned

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent

Experience - 1+ years of PACS, Radiology or IT experience; 1+ years of Medical Terminology experience

Preferred:

Bachelor degree in Related Field

Certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification; Or Accredited University or accredited training professionals; Or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT); Or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); Or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)

Physical Requirements:
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
