Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of ReDev (Research and Early Development) Finance. This role involves leading financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis efforts to support the company's Research and Early Development team. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the organization's financial goals align with strategic decisions, helping to grow the business while reducing financial risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective financial tools and processes to support the Research and Early development teams as they assess opportunities for internal innovation investments to build and grow our early pipeline.
  • Ensure the right mix of financial knowledge and accountability with the ReDev leadership, allowing leadership to own their financials but not overburdening with process.
  • Lead all budgeting, forecasting and long range planning activities for the Research and Early Development Organization. Build compelling and thoughtful business cases to support relevant processes.
  • Help the CSO and his leadership team and human resources identify internal gaps in capabilities and recommend opportunities to address those gaps.
  • Work with ReDev team, and BD Finance to support analysis on the financial viability of new business opportunities.
  • Work across the R&D / TOQ Finance team to ensure operational execution is maximized.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to senior leadership new innovation ideas.
  • Ensure contractual points are well understood across finance stakeholders across the finance leadership team for research driven collaborations.
  • Build models to support long term planning for lab space needs along side ReDev leadership and Facilities / Real Estate teams.
  • Present financial analysis to Senior Leadership.
  • Conduct regular financial reviews and report any potential financial risks to senior leadership.
  • Ability to work as a senior member of an integration team as we acquire external innovation.
  • Act as a financial thought leader for ReDev - recommend creative solutions to emerging problems and partner to execute.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field is required. An MBA or other related advanced degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in finance or a related field, preferably with a focus in biotech R&D organizations. Prior experience in biotech is required.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, long range planning, financial models, valuations, and business proposals.
  • Strong leadership skills, with an ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Exceptional communication skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.

U.S. Pay Range

$184,700.00 - $249,900.00

The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short-term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long-term incentive award (e.g., equity).
