At JLL, we are driving sustainability through everything that we do, across all service lines and job positions. Specifically, we are growing our Sustainability practice to drive end-to-end sustainability solutions in real estate, from site selection to decommissioning.

The Role

In this role, you will work directly with a client's sustainability team supporting the strategic advancement of energy and sustainability goals. As the leader of the JLL Sustainable Operations Team you will develop a deep knowledge of the needs of our client's program and will ensure they are capturing JLL's full suite of sustainability services. You will act as an accelerator and collaborator both internally and externally, enabling our client to increase engagement across stakeholders and progress towards goals. You will ensure sustainability integration across business/functions to influence behavioral changes. This role requires aprogrammatic approach to embed sustainability thinking and practices throughout the real estate lifecycle.

This position is hybrid-remote, requiring in-office presence and site visits weekly.

Candidate must have the ability to influence senior stakeholders, as they will be tasked with creating value added solutions for our client. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to develop and present executive level business cases. The role requires regular interaction with account leadership, clients, service providers, operational and support staff and will be part of a fast-paced environment consistently charged with handling multiple demands and priorities. The candidate must be able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, effectively manage through stressful situations, and consistently make high-quality decisions. The candidate must have superb people management and documentation skills and deliver thoroughness and accuracy in all tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement all JLL sustainability activities across the client real estate portfolio
• Contribute to the client corporate sustainability strategy and drive the delivery of key objectives
• Develop and lead a comprehensive Net Zero 2040 program for client sites, including defining scope parameters, creating detailed implementation roadmaps with milestone tracking, and establishing rough order of magnitude cost estimates that inform annual budget planning and resource allocation to support program objectives
• Develop, drive, and continuously improve client facing rhythm of the business activities including monthly and quarterly business reviews and annual operational planning
• Provide strategic direction and guidance on ways to enhance and expand service delivery to the client, including leveraging supply chain partners, internal collaborations, and the broader JLL Sustainability Platform
• Own, and improve upon, a multi-faceted energy and sustainability strategy aligned with client goals
• Provide subject matter expertise and introduce leading practices in sustainability and energy management
• Lead the implementation and project management of sustainability programs within scope, including overseeing project execution of key initiatives
• Establish strong working relationships with internal and external partners to effectively manage delivery of energy and sustainability initiatives
• Effectively network cross-functionally to collaborate with other JLL service lines on the account (technology, finance, projects, IFM, consultants, and procurement) to elevate the sustainability mission and objectives, and drive implementation where most organic within the business
• With cross-functional view, effectively manage changes in partnership with stakeholders, which have the potential to impact sustainability objectives
• Ensure success stories are tracked and communicated to ensure a high level of awareness and engagement is achieved with regard to the overall sustainability program and client's success
• Demonstrate innovative thinking and proactive management in bringing new ideas and solutions to the client, and ensure they are rolled out effectively
• Develop and enhance systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance and use of utility/sustainability management systems for monitoring and/or reporting purposes
• Provide technical expertise, strategic leadership, and support for various client facilities on sustainability issues

• University Degree (Science, engineering, math, or related fields)
• Passionate about working towards a sustainable future
• An excellent understanding of the key sustainability issues for corporate occupiers of real estate including, but not limited to; decarbonization, embodied carbon, circularity, resource preservation, biodiversity, climate risk, health & wellbeing, and social value creation
• Demonstrated experience in influencing cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated experience with change management across multi-faceted situations and cross-functional teams; change management certification is desirable
• Experience working with corporate clients, commercial property, property managers and an understanding of the landlord and tenant relationship is desirable
• Excellent ability to build relationships with clients and their internal teams
• A strong track record integrating sustainability into organizations' operations
• Experience working in a collaborative way with clients and other stakeholders to develop and implement ambitious and robust sustainability programs
• Proven project management experience and excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in written and numeric work
• Ability to obtain buy-in and engagement from employees at all levels
• Operates with a sense of urgency and is decisive
• An authentic leader, stimulates action with a balanced leadership style of control and influence

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
