The Clerkship Coordinator position is responsible for supporting, implementing, and executing the medical education (MD degree) program. Also responsible for collaborating with others to manage the curriculum for third-year clerkships and fourth-year electives within the clerkship phase of the medical education program and student rotations for the clerkships. Serves as the primary resource for medical students for the department in which the students are assigned. Key Responsibilities Clerkship Management
- Support the Clerkship Director and M3/M4 Component Director in meeting all educational and accreditation goals.
- Serve as the main contact between students, faculty, and department leadership.
- Track student progress and ensure all graduation requirements are met; coordinate remediation when needed.
- Organize and oversee student exams, grading, and evaluations.
- Prepare and distribute clerkship schedules, curriculum materials, and related information.
- Advise students on curriculum, electives, and testing requirements.
- Maintain databases and prepare reports on student performance and program outcomes.
- Manage the clerkship budget and related expenses.
Curriculum Management System
- Provide access, support, and troubleshooting for faculty, residents, and students.
- Enter and update faculty and resident data for performance evaluations.
- Monitor completion of evaluations and provide compliance reports.
- Compile and distribute evaluation summaries and grade reports for medical students.
Elective Coordination
- Support coordination and administration of electives and selectives for third- and fourth-year students.
- Manage elective schedules, student placements, and faculty assignments.
- Maintain accurate records for all elective courses.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree or relevant experience
- Minimum of two year of work experience, healthcare, academic, and/or office setting is preferred
- Knowledge of Office 365 Suite, specifically Word, Excel, SharePoint, and/or similar applications
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects at one time
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so that others will understand
