Position Overview

The Premier Sport Recruitment Coordinator manages a robust prospective student-athlete pool and provides direct recruitment oversight and support to Premier Sport head coaches. Core responsibilities include cultivating leads, coordinating campus visits, assisting with prospective events, monitoring recruitment goals, and ensuring consistent communication with prospective students and families throughout the admissions and registration process. This role also requires active outreach and travel to high schools, clubs, state tournaments, regional events, and other recruitment venues to promote Creighton University and its Premier Club Sports programs.

Option to Coach: Candidates may have the opportunity for an additional paid coaching assignment in one of the following sports, depending on experience and interest: Baseball, Softball, Women's Volleyball, or Women's Golf. A coaching stipend will supplement the base salary.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Admissions Support

  • Serve as the primary contact for prospective Premier Sport student-athletes, maintaining consistent communication throughout the application and registration process.

  • Respond promptly to inquiries, calls, emails, and follow-up requests.

  • Conduct individualized on-campus appointments, family meetings, and group presentations.

  • Coordinate campus visits and meetings between prospective students and coaches.

Recruiting Strategy & Coach Collaboration

  • Actively identify and cultivate recruiting leads; create and maintain a recruit database.

  • Conduct regular recruiting meetings with head coaches; set clear expectations and track progress.

  • Provide training and guidance to coaches on recruitment processes, timelines, and strategies.

  • Assist in planning, developing, and administering prospect camps and clinics.

  • Determine high-impact recruiting events to maximize program visibility.

Outreach & Travel

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with high school and club coaches, athletic directors, counselors, alumni, and parents to drive recruiting pipelines.

  • Travel to high schools, state tournaments, club tournaments, and regional events to represent Premier Club Sports and Creighton University.

  • Monitor high school sports results in target market states to identify prospective recruits.

Data, Reporting & Marketing

  • Work with the Director to establish and track recruitment goals (contacts, visits, applications, registrations, roster sizes).

  • Track and present recruitment data regularly.

  • Collaborate with the Premier Sports marketing team to develop and implement targeted marketing and recruitment strategies.

  • Prepare and distribute letters of commitment and recruitment materials to committed students.

Other Responsibilities

  • Represent Premier Club Sports at campus visit days and assist in planning visit programming.

  • Manage administrative duties related to recruiting timelines and enrollment processes.

  • Expect significant evening, weekend, and travel obligations, often exceeding 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 1-3 years of experience in college admissions, student recruitment, athletic recruiting, or a related field preferred.

  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel frequently.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally and nationally.

  • Understanding of the college admissions process and/or athletic recruiting.

  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication skills-verbal, written, and interpersonal and comfortable presenting to both small and large groups.

  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel frequently.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally and nationally.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn CRM/database systems (such as Slate).

  • Strong relationship-building skills with students, families, coaches, and school staff.

  • Ability to follow schedules, meet deadlines, and handle travel-related stress.
