Position Summary:
The Lead Waitperson is responsible for supervising the dining room staff. The responsibilities for this position include assisting with the management of the dining room and overseeing the service of meals to residents.

Position Responsibilities include:



  • Directly supervises wait staff.
  • Busses and resets tables as needed. Ensures dining room is clean and reset to standard prior to next meal.
  • Takes meal orders in an accurate and courteous manner, providing prompt service to fill orders and requests.
  • Assists in the orientation of all new employees including: on-the-job training, adherence to policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations.
  • Assists the Food Service Director in other administrative activities as directed by Management.
  • Maintains standards of safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in the food services department.
  • Ensures that appropriate levels of coverage are maintained at all times. Informs supervisor of staffing/scheduling needs.
  • Monitors and ensures completion wait staff opening and closing duties.
  • Keeps supervisor and cook(s) informed of questions, comments and/or complaints. Diligently works to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Familiar with food service disaster plan.


Qualifications

Education:
Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D.

Training and Experience:
A minimum of one (1) year work experience in food service operations. California Food Handler.

Job Knowledge:
Ability to understand and work harmoniously with residents, staff and healthcare professionals. Ability to maintain high professional and ethical standards. Computer knowledge is helpful but not required.

The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
