As an Assistant Chief Engineer - Hybrid Space Team Lead at JLL, you will serve as a transformative leader responsible for overseeing advanced rack deployment operations, managing sophisticated liquid cooling infrastructure, and driving operational excellence across critical data center environments. This senior leadership role combines deep technical expertise with comprehensive team management, positioning you to shape the future of hybrid space operations in mission-critical facilities.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Lead and supervise rack deployment teams across multiple concurrent projects while coordinating work assignments, schedules, and resource allocation for complex deployment activities

  • Oversee advanced server rack installations and validate adherence to engineering specifications while directing installation of sophisticated liquid cooling infrastructure including multi-rack CDU systems

  • Manage comprehensive liquid cooling system operations including installation, commissioning, and maintenance of cooling distribution units from header to rack connection

  • Plan and execute preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance programs across rack infrastructure while coordinating structured rounds workorders and ensuring compliance with operational procedures

  • Supervise 24/7 operational monitoring of CDU parameters including flow rates, temperature differentials, and system pressures while overseeing EPMS/BMS dashboard management

  • Direct comprehensive chemical management and quality control programs including fluid testing procedures, water chemistry validation, and DI water system maintenance

  • Lead emergency response teams for coolant leaks, system failures, and critical alarms while conducting root cause analysis investigations and implementing corrective action plans

  • Develop strategic deployment strategies and best practices for rack installation programs while analyzing performance data and recommending system optimization initiatives

  • Oversee maintenance documentation, calibration records, and asset management system updates while ensuring compliance with facility standards and regulatory requirements

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in data center rack deployment, liquid cooling systems, or critical facility operations with proven technical expertise

  • At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in team leadership, project management, or supervisory roles with responsibility for managing technical teams

  • Advanced knowledge of CDU operations, coolant distribution systems, and thermal management technologies in critical facility environments

  • Proven experience with chemical management, fluid quality control, and water chemistry analysis for liquid cooling infrastructure

  • Strong leadership capabilities with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop technical teams while driving operational excellence

  • Advanced problem-solving skills for complex system troubleshooting, emergency response coordination, and critical incident management

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities for technical documentation, comprehensive reporting, and stakeholder management

  • Physical capability to lift up to 80 pounds, work at heights and in confined spaces, and maintain 24/7 on-call availability for emergency response

  • Availability to travel between multiple facility locations as required for project oversight and cross-site coordination

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent technical education with focus on critical systems

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management credentials with proven track record of successful project delivery

  • Advanced certifications in liquid cooling systems, chemical handling, or specialized data center operations management

  • Extensive experience with commissioning activities, performance baselining, and comprehensive system optimization initiatives

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies including Lean or Six Sigma with proven ability to implement process enhancements

  • Experience with vendor management, contract oversight, and procurement processes for critical facility equipment and services
