POSITION SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst is a key member of the Alterra Mountain Company FP&A department. The position is primarily responsible to oversee financial processes in support of the Denver based corporate office and may assist with ongoing needs across resorts. This position coordinates the annual budget, forecasting, monthly close/reporting, and is responsible for ad-hoc analysis. The ideal candidate is motivated, self directed, comfortable presenting and working with employees at all levels of the company in a fast-paced work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

General Responsibilities

G&A Financial Support and Oversight:
  • Prepare, Review and Distribute monthly P&L reports
  • Collaborate with budget owners on review and analysis of results
  • Prepare monthly consolidated reporting package for senior leadership team, including commentary and analysis
  • Participate on monthly management financial review meetings
  • Participate in monthly financial soft close review
  • Collaborate with accounting on adjusting entries, reclasses and general accounting process
  • Facilitate annual planning and budgeting process
  • Develop and improve financial reporting tools and processes
  • Prepare monthly forecast and financial trend analysis
  • Provide analytical support for annual plan reviews, target setting and other initiatives
  • Financial support for corporate insurance, sponsorship, and other corporate programs
  • Facilitate month forecasting process

Ad hoc Financial Analysis:
  • Provide financial analysis for budget owners and senior leaders to support corporate initiatives and business development efforts
  • Collaborate with ongoing Merger and Acquisition activity
  • Ad hoc financial modeling and data requests as required
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of experience in finance or accounting in a mid to large company is preferred
  • Preferred: CPA, CFA or MBA with a focus on finance
  • Experience working within a large, complex organization is strongly preferred
  • Strong Excel financial modeling skills, PowerPoint and Word skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to build complex Excel models
  • Understanding in summary and executive level reporting
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and concepts
  • Knowledge of finance - financial modeling, DCF, sensitivity analysis, budgeting
  • Self-motivated and results driven
  • Assertive and decisive, comfort working with all levels in the organization
  • Willing to commit time required to complete tasks expediently
  • Dynamic, pro-active, resourceful, and practical
  • Works well as part of a larger team.
  • Ability to work with and relate to employees at all levels of the organization
  • Attention to detail
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a time sensitive manner
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional/lived experience working in a culturally competent manner with a broad range of people.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Undergraduate degree; ideally a degree in finance, business administration, or equivalent.

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of the Company's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Denver area base salary range: $57,000 - $93,000 per year
