IFCP Critical Environment Project Team Lead - JLL What this job involves:

As a Sr. Project Manager for Critical Environments, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional project outcomes for mission-critical facilities including data centers, while leading and developing a team of project professionals. You will be part of a team that believes in empowering every individual to thrive and building effective teams through collaboration, both locally and globally while this player-coach role combines hands-on technical project management with team leadership, requiring deep expertise in critical infrastructure systems and the ability to mentor and guide project teams to success. This role involves successfully managing and leading critical environment projects from inception to completion, ensuring the highest quality delivery within agreed timelines and budgets while building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members throughout the project lifecycle.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Successfully manage and lead critical environment projects from inception to completion, ensuring highest quality delivery within agreed timelines and budgets
  • Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and empowering individuals to achieve their best performance
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, track progress, and proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues
  • Track project finances, ensure adherence to budgetary constraints, and provide accurate cost forecasts
  • Implement robust quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet the highest standards and client expectations
  • Provide technical oversight for MEP systems in data center and mission-critical facilities, including electrical systems (switchgear, generators, UPS), cooling (HVAC), and mechanical infrastructure
  • Review engineering designs, project drawings, and scope of work to ensure alignment with industry standards and project requirements
  • Oversee installation quality and performance testing of critical infrastructure systems
  • Lead and motivate a team of construction project managers, providing support, coaching, and mentorship as necessary
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions with project managers on best practices and industry knowledge
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, construction management, or related field
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in project management, with specific focus on critical environments, data centers, or mission-critical facilities
  • 2+ years of professional experience in supervisory/leadership role managing direct reports
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MEP infrastructure, critical environment systems, and relevant industry standards
  • Strong technical expertise in MEP system design, construction methodologies, and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in project management software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to lead and motivate project teams
  • Technical understanding of electrical systems, cooling systems, fire and life safety, and critical infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license and/or Data Center Energy Practitioner (DCEP) certification
  • Professional certification in project management (PMP), Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), or USGBC LEED
  • Experience in Jones Lang LaSalle's project management software (Adaptive Work, Ingenious, and E1/Spend)
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet for project planning, scheduling, and reporting with ability to create dashboards and automate workflows
  • Experience working in global and matrixed organizations
  • Knowledge of local government building codes for critical environment construction processes
  • Understanding of ADA compliance requirements and security protocols for critical facilities
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills with proven troubleshooting experience in complex MEP environments

Not specified (regular on-site presence required with client and contractor interaction at critical facility locations)

Work Shift:

Regular business hours with availability for critical operations and after-hours support for mission-critical facilities

Estimated compensation for this position:

109,735.00 - 148,465.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
