MUST:

Experienced Web Content Developer

4+ years of website design and development experience

Ability to write supporting code for web applications or web sites.

Ability to develop and maintain Internet and Intranet web pages and resources.

Experience in software and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, XML, JSON, JavaScript, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Ability to utilize an enterprise web content management system (CMS/WordPress).

Ability to be flexible and adaptive quickly change course and use multiple technologies to achieve required outcomes.

Ability to proactively manage multiple communications paths to ensure content is compliant.

Experience with social media, metadata, tagging and searching.

Experience with Web Content Management System (WCMS)

Experience with Digital First Editor (DFE)

Bachelors degree required

DUTIES:

Provide support for website development and website content updates

Receive content requests and materials, typically provided as Word documents or via email.

Create new pages or update existing pages within WCMS or DFE, depending on whether the content is intranet or internet-facing.

Apply appropriate CDC templates, components, and page structures based on CMS requirements.

Perform light HTML edits when required by CMS limitations or formatting needs.

Validate links, headings, lists, tables, and basic page structure before submission or publication.

Coordinate with CDC contacts to clarify content intent, placement, or corrections when source materials are incomplete or unclear.

Support iterative updates based on stakeholder feedback.

Participates in meetings, and contributes to technical design, reports, and other feedback mechanisms as appropriate

Design clean, consistent user interfaces based on best practices, user research data, and knowledge gained from product analysis; Adhere to established CDC.gov design guidelines

Produce wireframes and interactive prototypes to depict the user interface

Produce client-ready deliverables and documentation based on templates

Perform cross-browser testing of Web sites and components and ensure all Web pages and Web files are 508 compliant

Adhere to internal approval processes and clearance requirements prior to publishing

Recommend and improve efficiency of Web solutions architecture, end-user experiences, search engine optimization, use of graphics, mobile optimization, and best practices

Collect, aggregate, analyze and report website metrics (using Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, etc.)
