The Lead Facilities Technician manages and performs routine reactive and preventative maintenance tasks across multiple fields including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fabric repairs. This role involves leading a multi-skilled team to deliver day-to-day support ensuring smooth facility operations while providing exceptional customer experience. The position requires collaboration with Facilities Managers and on-site teams to complete planned maintenance and reactive tasks in accordance with service level agreements and regulatory requirements.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Oversee site technicians and planning schedulers to ensure all planned maintenance and reactive tasks meet or exceed service level agreements
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical plant equipment, plumbing components, fire safety systems, and building automation systems
  • Complete documentation for fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, building alarm contacts, and other critical building systems
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors while conducting risk assessments and following safety protocols and Permit to Work procedures
  • Ensure all work orders are completed and closed in full compliance with JLL processes and Equipment Maintenance Systems
  • Provide technical support for projects, undertake small installation works, and perform general handyman tasks including lock repairs and door maintenance
  • Generate regular reports on engineering activity and collaborate with internal teams to resolve unique situations with professionalism

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Work in various building environments including mechanical rooms, rooftops, and office spaces
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required by risk assessments and safety protocols
  • Perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces
  • Work with hand tools, power tools, and specialized maintenance equipment
  • Exposure to mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing components, and building materials
  • May work in varying temperature conditions and outdoor environments as needed
  • Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods during maintenance activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or training in facilities maintenance, electrical, HVAC, or plumbing trades
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or building operations
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing, and fire safety system
  • Experience with maintenance management systems and work order processes
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and permitting to work procedures
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to oversee technicians and coordinate maintenance activities
  • Proficiency with documentation systems and ability to generate regular reports

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading multi-skilled maintenance teams in commercial facilities
  • Knowledge of building automation systems and energy management practices
  • Familiarity with service level agreements and client account management
  • Experience working with contractors, vendors, and project coordination
  • Understanding of sustainability initiatives and utility consumption reduction
  • Customer service experience with ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
  • Knowledge of JLL processes, systems, and standards or similar professional services environment
